FivePlay Jazz Quintet

Friday, July 26, 6 pm at Marin County Mart

Co-led by husband and wife team Laura Klein and Tony Corman, the members of FivePlay are long time musical associates with an on-stage alchemy that generates adventurous, interactive, and exciting performances. Both composers and chordal instrumentalists, Klein plays piano while Corman plays a specially tuned guitar. Their quintet is rounded out by Dave Tidball on reeds along with Paul Smith on bass and Greg German on drums. While some of their original tunes sound as if they are out of the great American Song Book, others shift between straight ahead bebop to post modern. Their unique style speaks to a wide audience, from savvy listeners to those hearing jazz for the first time.

This is a Guaranteed Fair Wage Fund event where each musician will be paid $150 in advance. Jazz in the Neighborhood makes this possible by subsidizing 40% of their pay. Marin Country Mart guarantees the rest. For additional information, please contact Marin Country Mart.
