Bird & Beckett’s Cultural Legacy Project presents hundreds of intimate shows a year by Bay Area professional musicians for neighborhood audiences, while Jazz in the Neighborhood presents and underwrites shows all around the Bay.

The BBCLP and JITN are in league to improve the wages and working conditions of local gigging musicians, and hence are launching an Independent Musicians Alliance — a solidarity organization to encourage the free exchange of information among musicians so that they can better agitate for a fair wage and better working conditions.

B&B and the JITN are on the same wavelength in considering musicians to be crucial to the survival of the human spirit in these trying times and worthy of being celebrated and awarded for their efforts in the best of times!
