The Jazz in the Neighborhood JazzMobile
The JazzMobile began in 2020 as a working relationship between Jazz in the Neighborhood (JitN) and the Bay Area Jazz Mobile. Together we have presented hundreds of concerts in every Bay Area County, while providing guaranteed fair wage opportunities to hundreds of local musicians. As of June of 2023, the Bay Area Jazz Mobile has become the JitN JazzMobile Program.
The JitN JazzMobile is a mobile Jazz venue that can present outdoor stand-alone concerts. Our JazzMobile vehicle transports the necessary gear to take Jazz directly to Bay Area neighborhoods and communities. By presenting our concerts in public spaces such as parks, plazas., recreation centers, senior centers, schools, and street closures, we create equal access for people of every ethnicity, age, gender, socio-economic background, and people with disabilities.
In order to do this, we have partnered with San Francisco Parks Alliance, San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department, the City Of Berkeley, California Arts Council, Zellerbach Family Foundation, Music in Place, Conservatory of San Francisco, and many other like minded organizations.
