The Bay Area is home to many incredible jazz musicians. They’ve made the courageous choice to devote their lives to developing their craft and attaining the highest artistic levels. These performers have much to offer audiences and aspiring young players. Jazz in the Neighborhood creates an environment where these professionals can nurture this American art form with dignity and respect.

Making music is a profession and yet for jazz musicians a guaranteed fair wage is the exception. Jazz in the Neighborhood advocates to change that condition with programs like the Guaranteed Fair Wage Fund in neighborhoods all over the Bay Area. No tip jars are allowed in the concerts we present and no one is ever turned away for lack of funds.
